Course Description

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) mandate that only practitioners use their login credentials. However, many organizations still use a practitioner’s login for accessing NPPES and PECOS for enrollments, updates, or reassignments, risking penalties for falsification and other civil and criminal charges.

To ensure compliance, the proper setup in the CMS Identity & Access (I&A) System is essential. This includes requesting surrogacy access to manage enrollments on behalf of practitioners providing billable services to your organization. If you haven’t established practitioner surrogacy connections yet, now is the time.

Join our webinar to learn about the CMS I&A roles, how to set up your organization correctly, and how to request and receive approval for surrogacy to manage enrollments and NPIs efficiently.

This is a pre-conference webinar for Eide Bailly’s Medicare Provider Enrollment Compliance Conference (MPECC), scheduled for March 10-13, 2025, in Nashville, TN. While attending MPECC after this webinar is encouraged, it is not required.
Learning Objectives

  • Summarize the CMS I&A System and the proper roles for compliant setup.
  • Demonstrate how to create your own I&A login and how to request surrogacy access to practitioners.
  • Discuss how to manage multiple practitioner Medicare enrollments and NPIs under a single login.
  • Examine your organization or practitioner Medicare enrollments to easily make required updates, establish reassignments, or revalidate.
  • Determine how to easily add, remove, or manage staff in I&A to ensure only the proper individuals have access.
